WHAT IS MUSIC THERAPY?

Music therapy is the evidence-based practice of using musical interventions to actively support people in pursuit of their goals relating to health, functioning, and wellbeing. Registered Music Therapists support people to pursue a range of goals in the areas of:

  • Verbal & non-verbal communication

  • Social skills & engagement

  • Physical rehabilitation

  • Emotional regulation

  • Speech development

  • Self-expression

  • Mental health & well-being

Each person is unique in the way they respond to music. The music therapy space here at LLM offers a person-centered and strengths-based approach to develop session plans to suit each individual. NDIS funding may be used for plan-managed and self-managed clients using your 'capacity building' budget. No previous music experience is required.
